There are many golf blogs out there, but I wouldn’t recommend 99% of them.
With golf being as exciting and complicated as it is, it’s not the best idea to follow anyone and everyone.
Unless you want to suck more at golf or don’t plan on improving your game.
When it comes to golf, there’s not one swing for everyone, there’s not one fix for everything, and there are no two people that do everything the same.
Sure, we all want to play like Tiger Woods.
We try to copy his swing.
We try to putt it the way he does.
And, heck, we even try to wear that ugly salmon-colored shirt that he wears.
At the end of the day, we don’t play like Tiger, and we sure aren’t going to be him.
That’s the beauty of golf, though.
We don’t have to be anyone to play the game.
We can use that ugly swing all our life, and the game is still fun and exciting.
We all play at different skill levels, and we all want/need different things when it comes to blogs.
So rather than giving you a list of all kinds of blogs, I want to show you what I think are the best golf blogs for the different readers we all are.
What Makes the Best Golf Blog?
The best golf blogs have one thing in common.
They all provide quality content.
We love reading content, especially when we’re not out on the course.
However, not everyone is interested in anything and everything, which is why I have broken up the best golf blogs.
Each of these blogs specializes in something and something that they are good at.
I have read a lot of their content, and I agree with most of the things they have to say.
So, I’m sure you’ll like what they have to offer.
Best Golf Blogs For Everything
The best golf blog for everything comes from the king of kings regarding domain names.
Golf.com
It doesn’t get any better than that, and they are a huge company that offers tons of free content for your reading pleasure.
Whether it be to learn something or see what’s happening with the LIV and PGA Tour feud, they have you covered.
What makes them one of the best golf blogs?
Let’s say they have a whole company running the business.
It’s good for them and great for us, who want to get their golf fix.
The Best Golf Blogs For Learning Golf
Learning how to play golf is not hard.
At all.
It’s simple to understand what you need to do and what you need to say just to sound like you know what you’re doing.
It’s everything else that comes after, and it’s something we all will be working on for the rest of our lives.
Getting better.
So for those of you looking to read golf blogs on how to do things, here are three of my favorites.
The Left Rough
As a new golfer, The Left Rough was one that I ran into the most.
They have lots of content that teach you how to play the game, but they also cover things like how to reshaft a golf club and many other things.
What makes their blog so great is their fantastic images.
It’s not authentic images but rather cartoon-style explanations of things.
I don’t know who does them, but it’s pretty amazing and unique.
Best Golf Blogs For Golf Talk and Gossip
Lots of men these days LOVE to get involved with golf gossip.
They get on social media channels, forums, and blogs to get their point across to others.
They say things like “I don’t usually comment on these things but…” and end up talking their life away.
It’s funny but true, and hey, you might be that guy or gal.
But, whatever.
We all like to get involved with golf, which is fantastic.
Golf is incredible, and there’s no shame in speaking your mind with other golfers.
I mean, it’s 2022, and things have changed.
A lot.
If you like this kind of stuff, here are three of the best golf blogs that will allow you to gossip all you want.
Golf Digest
I’m subscribed to Golf Digest, and I have to pick and choose what I read, or I’ll get lost.
They provide so much content that it’s not even funny.
I can’t read everything they provide, so I read only the things that interest me.
And with a name like “Golf Digest,” what did you expect?
So, if you want to follow one of the best golf blogs covering lots of gossips, Golf Digest is it.
The Bleacher Report
The Bleacher Report is a popular site/app that discusses all sports.
They have news and juicy gossip on basketball, football, tennis, and you guessed it.
Golf.
They do things a bit differently, though.
Instead of featuring their content, they feature tweets from Golf.com, Golf Digest, and other sites.
I don’t fully understand the connection, but I will look into this for us.
Check out Bleacher Report if you have nothing better to do or can’t play golf, thanks to this winter.
Best Golf Blog For Gear
“I don’t like cool golf gear,” said no one ever.
Everyone that plays golf is interested in nice clubs.
Sure, not everyone can afford them, but we all have a thing for golf clubs.
As much as I know golf clubs are overpriced, I still like their feel and look.
Now, if you can’t buy any cool golf gear to wow your friends, you can always look at them through some of the best golf blogs that focus on equipment.
My Golf Spy
As a new golfer, My Golf Spy was one of the very first blogs I ran into.
I needed to know whether or not I should get some Mizuno JPX 921 forged irons, and I did my research.
They were the site I got advice from, and I have always looked to them for guidance since.
They offer in-depth reviews, and like every other golf blog, they have the latest and greatest gear available.
Golf Gear Direct Blog
Sometimes having the most basic website is better.
Less is more in most cases, which I like about Golf Gear Direct.
They have articles on golf gear that will have you making informed decisions reasonably quickly.
When you have too much going on, you tend to get more confused and get something you probably shouldn’t have.
Regardless, Golf Gear Direct is one of the best golf blogs if you’re looking to get some golf gear.
Best Golf Blogs For Golf Courses
I’m not that interested in reading about golf courses.
I get the occasional article about how so and so built, but I don’t go looking for golf courses.
If you are interested in reading about golf courses, here are a few blogs you might enjoy.
Breaking Eighty
Breaking Eighty is one of my favorite blogs, as they have great content on many things.
One thing they do is review golf courses.
I won’t be playing on most of them, but it’s great to see what they think about some of the courses the pros play on.
Have a read on Winged Foot here, and you’ll see why it’s one of the top 100 golf courses in the US.
Best Golf Blogs For Golf Data
I hang out with a lot of history buffs that are also into golf.
They love to play the game, but when you get them going about history, you can’t stop them.
Now when it comes to golf and history together, maybe not so much.
They care a lot about data and statistics, which is way more fun.
We have the best golf blog for data for that type of stuff.
Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR)
If you want golf data and especially to see who the best golfers in the world are, the official world golf ranking website is all you need.
I’m on that site at least once a month to see who has moved up and down the rankings.
These rankings change much more than I thought, and that website is constantly updated.
On top of that, they have the schedule of future events and news on golf, especially regarding the movement in the world rankings.
Conclusion – Follow the Best Golf Blogs
As a golfer, it’s hard not to get involved with anything golf-related.
We play it, practice it, watch it on TV, watch it on YouTube, and read about it on blogs.
Although there are many things you should know before getting into golf, it is a fantastic hobby to take on.
You will never run out of information and entertainment, especially with all the awesome golf blogs out there.
I hope you found this article to be helpful to you in one way or another.
